Engineering Build Supervisor
A high tech manufacturing business in Oxford have a newly created position for a motivated and experienced Engineering Build Supervisor, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the Assembly & Test Technician team, ensuring that assembly and test work is delivered safely, on time, and to quality. The role combines people leadership, operational planning and process development with a strong emphasis on building lasting technical capability within the team and embedding robust documentation and continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and assign assembly/test work so it is delivered safely, on time, and to standard
- Remove blockers and re-plan daily as priorities and the task pipeline change
- Own and improve scheduling/resourcing so technicians always have a clear work pipeline
- Own work instructions/SOPs so processes are clear, followed consistently, and continuously improved
- Support technicians with build/test issues, escalation, and development
- Maintain 5S across assembly/test areas (housekeeping, layout and organisation)

Requirements
The Engineering Build Supervisor should possess:
- A strong engineering mindset with the ability to understand technical concepts
- Led assembly/test/manufacturing technician teams in a fast-paced development setting
- Ran day-to-day operations in lab-based hardware test environments
- Planned and allocated work in a priority-shifting environment, including capacity planning
- Led 5S/Lean/continuous improvement on the shop floor
- Create and maintain work instructions, SOPs and operational documentation
