In the UK the Freightliner Group operates under a number of legal entities including, Freightliner Ltd, Pentalver Transport Ltd, and Pentalver Cannock Ltd.
Purpose Of The Role
Freightliner's Safety Management System and supporting Maintenance Policy defines the standards to be applied in maintaining the traction and rolling stock for which Freightliner is the Entity in Charge of Maintenance (ECM). As ECM, Freightliner must undertake reviews of the application of its policies via audit. In addition Freightliner's Maintenance policy requires that all Suppliers of Maintenance Services and Material are assessed as competent. The Compliance Manager T&RS is key to the delivery of these requirements.
The Key Responsibilities Of The Role Are
To manage the T&RS Competence Management and Audit activities for the Engineering team to support Freightliner's ECM responsibilities and the company Safety Management System.

To lead and direct the Freightliner T&RS Supplier Approval process.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
Lead and direct the audit process and the delivery of the audit plan to allow both compliance monitoring and process improvement. Ensure the practical adherence of the maintenance and overhaul activity to the documented process.
Develop the annual audit plan and review the output of the audit process to develop a risk based approach to future audit plans.
Lead the development and application of Freightliner's competency assessment policy for traction & rolling stock staff.
Develop and manage the Freightliner Supplier Assurance Policy for T&RS.
Through surveillance, interview, site visit and audit, verify that company engineering standards and statutory legislation is applied on Freightliner traction & rolling stock engineering assets.
Review and develop engineering standards/policies, interpret for Freightliner use, ensuring they are in-line with applicable legislation, industry codes of practice and group standards.
Lead and direct the Competence and Audit Engineers to ensure required standards are delivered, reviewed and updated as required.

Carry out other duties as directed by the Professional Head of T&RS Engineering.
The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by the role within and the overall business objectives of the organisation.
Key Job Requirements
At least 5 years broadly based experience of traction & rolling stock engineering
At least 3 years' experience in supervisory or man-management and the ability to make sound engineering decisions
Relevant qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering
Lead Assessor Qualification (D32, A1 or Equivalent)
Lead Auditor Qualification (e.g LRQA etc)
Personal Track Safety Certificate
