Engineering Compliance Manager
Network Operability Compliance Manager
About The Role
Network Operability is accountable for:
- Developing the electricity system operability strategy and analysis capability
- Providing technical advice to real-time operation and network planning
- Developing long-term operability products and solutions
- Enabling the connection of new solutions to the network while ensuring compliance
As the Manager in Network Operability, you will:
- Lead a team of 8 to 12 power system engineers
- Deliver licence obligations and NESO1 activities driven by:
- Zero-carbon operation
- Network development needs
- Industry landscape change
This role focuses on:
- Leading engineering compliance activities across existing and new connections
- Supporting industry compliance with the Grid Code
- Contributing to model development, code changes, and technical solutions for the evolving electricity system
The Manager will:
- Provide leadership for their relevant workstream
- Accountability for setting direction, driving delivery, and enabling practical solutions at pace
Location flexibility: Based from Wokingham or Warwick, with hybrid working options (office and home). We welcome both full-time and part-time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Key Accountabilities
As a Compliance Manager, your responsibilities include:

- Fully engage with the Network Operability leadership team to support successful execution of the NESO1 business plan.

Stakeholder relationships
- Build strong connections with internal and external stakeholders and customers.

- Develop team members to drive performance and create strong career progression pathways.

Grid Code compliance
- Manage all existing and new connections through the Grid Code compliance process.
- Advise and guide industry participants on compliance requirements.
- Lead Grid Code modifications to ensure the compliance process remains fit for purpose.

About You
We’re seeking a strong technical and people leader who can:

- Deliver change and manage complex technical risks for the benefit of the organisation and stakeholders.
- Develop team members and personal potential to reach full capability.
- Create solutions in uncertain environments, leveraging deep knowledge of industry frameworks and technical challenges.

- Ability to synthesise policy, technical, and commercial perspectives.
What You’ll Get
Competitive remuneration package:
- Base salary: Up to £80,000 per annum (dependent on experience and capability).
- Bonus: Up to 15% of salary for stretch performance.
- Annual leave: 28 days standard.
- Pension: A contributory scheme with company match (up to 12% of eligible contributions).
