Engineering Configuration Lead
Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Sheffield, Hybrid - 2 days per week on site minimum
Travel: You will need to travel once per week to the alternate site with 1 day expected at your home site. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £54,490+ (DOE)

Job description:
You will oversee the configuration of multiple M777 product variants, ensuring changes to product baselines are effectively controlled and implemented. You will work with stakeholders across the business to assess and coordinate the impact of change on hardware and technical documentation, confirm points of embodiment, and ensure delivery in line with programme plans. You will be responsible for the configuration management processes, advocate best practice, and drive continuous improvement across the Weapon Systems UK business.
Core duties:
- Oversee and coordinate configuration management activities across assigned projects, ensuring compliance with configuration management plans and processes
- Coordinate the release of Technical Data Packages (TDPs) and support the creation and maintenance of Engineering Bills of Materials (EBOMs)
- Capture and document the impacts of proposed design changes, including effects on cost, quality, schedule, and business processes
- Coordinate reviews between engineering, logistics, and product data systems, identifying discrepancies and supporting corrective actions
- Produce and present configuration management reports, updates, and metrics to stakeholders while driving process improvements and best practice

Essential skills:
- Experience or understanding of Configuration Management qualities within a product development, manufacturing, or support environment
- Relevant experience in an engineering, project management, or similar discipline, ideally supported by an NC/HNC qualification or equivalent
- Experience coordinating tasks which require input from multiple functions/teams, whilst gathering and interpreting information, assessing the impact of change, and producing clear reports and presentations for stakeholders and customers
- Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Teamcenter
