The University of Edinburgh is seeking a Senior Research Fellow in Geomaterials to join their School of GeoSciences.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., civil engineering, geomechanics, materials science)
  • Significant post-doctoral experience in experimental geomechanics, rheology, or materials characterisation
  • Strong skills in data analysis, numerical modelling (e.g., finite element analysis), and scientific writing
  • Experience with high-pressure/high-temperature testing and advanced characterisation techniques is desirable

  • Leading a research project on understanding the mechanical behaviour of geomaterials under extreme conditions
  • Conducting experimental work, data analysis, and numerical modelling
