About the Role
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions is a leading global provider of integrated facilities and corporate real estate management. We are seeking a Deputy Shift Lead to join our team in London.
As the Deputy Shift Lead, you will oversee the team responsible for resolving and completing day-to-day work orders to ensure customer satisfaction. This role falls under CBRE’s Critical and Technical Services, which support technical maintenance in critical client environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage, plan, coordinate, schedule, and oversee the workload, deadlines, and day-to-day activities of support team members to ensure service delivery.
- Cover holiday, training, and sickness obligations for other shift team members.
- Review work logs and outstanding items in the in-house system to track completion status.
- Ensure compliance with all company, client safety, and security policies for contractors and staff.
- Seek out new vendors and maintain existing vendor relationships.
- Assist in developing critical services training programs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client and management escalations.
- Share expertise and industry knowledge with the team to resolve operational challenges.
- Evaluate Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) assessments of plant and equipment, and recommend improvements and upgrades.
- Ensure all out-of-line situations are documented with incident reports.
- Resolve complex technical problems and identify inventive solutions to meet team objectives.
- Establish new techniques to ensure team objectives are achieved.
- Have a direct impact on team goals and broader project objectives.
- Drive personal and team outcomes that align with customer objectives.
- Lead by example by embodying CBRE’s RISE values (Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence).
- Guide the team in applying best practices and procedures, and foster consensus.

Person Specification
Experience & Qualifications
- Diploma or GED with 5+ years of relevant work experience. Alternatives such as combined education and experience may also be considered.
- Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred.
###Technical Competency
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in BS7671:2008 electrical installation in line with IEE Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift/carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs or more).
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth understanding of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within your job function and basic knowledge of related areas.
- Ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information effectively.
- Expert-level skills in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational skills, coupled with a master-level inquisitive mindset.
