Engineering Excellence Consultant - Guidewire Cloud

Company Description

RED KITE is a UK-headquartered IT consultancy with a global delivery center in India, specializing in low-code BPM platforms, enterprise digital transformation, and advanced process automation. The organization partners with clients in the Public Sector, Banking and Financial Services, and Insurance to design scalable, cost-effective solutions using platforms such as Pega and other leading low-code technologies. Its certified practitioners bring deep expertise in implementation, governance, and optimization to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes and measurable business impact. RED KITE is a human-first company that prioritizes people and clients, promoting diversity, inclusivity, and equality to create an environment where innovation and collaboration thrive.

About the Role

Our Engineering Excellence team is an enabler function: we coach delivery squads and their tech leads toward continuous delivery, and in time continuous deployment, on the Guidewire Cloud Platform. This person will work across squads - pairing, coaching, and raising standards - and will be credible enough on the Guidewire platform to drive issues and change requests directly to Guidewire as the platform owner.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’ll do

  • Coach tech leads and delivery squads toward modern engineering practice - automated testing, trunk-based development, CI/CD, and progressive delivery - working at both low (hands-on) and high (architecture/strategy) levels.
  • Identify what blocks continuous delivery in a Guidewire Cloud context and lead the work to dismantle those blockers.
  • Represent the squads’ platform needs to Guidewire: frame, prioritize, and drive platform asks and limitations with the vendor.
  • Raise the bar on code review, automation, and delivery quality through influence rather than authority.
  • Help define and measure engineering-maturity targets, and show real, evidenced uplift over time.

Essential Experience

  • Senior-or-above, with real depth on the Guidewire Cloud Platform (InsuranceSuite - PolicyCenter / BillingCenter / ClaimCenter), including configuration-vs-customization judgement, Gosu/Java, integration patterns, and the cloud release/upgrade model.
  • Demonstrable modern-engineering practice: automated testing strategy, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and a continuous-delivery mindset - ideally applied in a Guidewire setting.
  • A genuine coaching/enablement track record: growing tech leads and squads and influencing teams that don’t report to them.
  • Comfortable operating end-to-end - from low-level code to high-level architecture - and explaining trade-offs to both engineers and stakeholders.
