Engineering Facilities Operative

Job Opportunity: Facilities Operative

About the Role

Location: Vitacress Salads, St Mary Bourne Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (occasional evening or weekend work may be required) Salary: £40,000 + annual bonus scheme and company pension

Do you take pride in keeping buildings safe, functional, and looking their best? Are you a hands-on problem solver who enjoys fixing, maintaining, and improving site facilities? Do you want to play a key role in maintaining a safe, high-quality environment at a leading fresh produce business?


Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain buildings, facilities, and outdoor areas to a high standard across the site
  • Carry out maintenance tasks including painting, decorating, basic plumbing, and repairs
  • Ensure compliance with all health & safety legislation, hygiene standards, and company procedures
  • Work across multiple environments including chilled factory areas, offices, and outdoors
  • Complete both reactive and planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with teams and support a strong, positive safety culture across the site

Requirements

You can do this if you have:

  • A basic understanding of plumbing, electrical services, and general building maintenance
  • Hands-on previous experience with building repairs and facilities maintenance tasks
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices, including COSHH and risk assessments
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with colleagues and contractors
  • Good organisational skills with a flexible and adaptable approach to work
