We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Engineering Lead to support a large-scale Risk & Controls transformation programme. This role will provide technical leadership, governance, and engineering oversight across multiple delivery teams working on risk, compliance, controls, integration, and application enhancement initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a key role in application modernization, regulatory-driven technology changes, controls implementation, enterprise integrations, and technical delivery. This is a highly hands-on leadership position requiring active involvement in architecture reviews, technical problem-solving, and engineering governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering leadership and technical oversight across multiple delivery teams.
  • Support application enhancement, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards, development processes, risk controls, and architecture best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards, security requirements, deployment practices, and governance controls.
  • Assess the impact of regulatory and compliance changes on applications, engineering processes, and operational controls.
  • Collaborate closely with risk, compliance, architecture, audit, and product stakeholders.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex engineering and production issues.
  • Guide the design and implementation of scalable integration solutions across APIs, middleware, event platforms, and external systems.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, technical assessments, code reviews, and compliance reviews.
  • Mentor engineering teams and contribute directly to troubleshooting, prototyping, and delivery activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering practices, controls frameworks, and tooling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
