Engineering Manager

Engineering Manager (Insurance Technology)

AI-Powered Specialty Insurance Platform

Location: UK or Eastern Europe (Remote, with occasional team meet-ups) Salary: Up to £100,000 / €100,000 (depending on location), plus potential equity

The Opportunity

Our client is one of the most exciting early-stage Insurtech businesses specialising in Specialty Insurance. With proven commercial traction and substantial financial backing, they are accelerating their growth and now seek an Engineering Manager to shape the next phase of their product evolution.

This newly created role presents a chance to become a key technical leader in building the next generation of their market-leading Policy Administration Platform. Instead of inheriting an existing team, you will:

  • Design and drive an innovative Agentic AI version of the product.
  • Contribute decisively to the long-term platform architecture.
  • Help position the company at the forefront of AI-native insurance technology.

For the right candidate, this is a career-defining opportunity, offering significant potential for growth as the business scales internationally.

The Role

A hands-on Engineering Manager role, blending technical leadership with software engineering excellence. You will spearhead the next phase of the company’s AI-enabled Policy Administration System for the Specialty Insurance sector.

While supported by specialist engineers in front-end, back-end, and data architecture, you will:

  • Personally drive technical direction, write critical code, and ensure the platform evolves into a best-in-class, AI-native solution.
  • Stay actively engaged in coding, design, and architecture while delegating operational details.
  • Experiment with AI-assisted development, including prompt engineering, debugging, and workflow automation.

Ideal for engineers who love building and staying hands-on—remaining excited by complex challenges and emerging AI tools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
