Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our ever evolving Engineering team and help shape the future of global commerce.
What You’ll Own
- Establish technical direction across the organization with a sound and pragmatic approach to delivering the highest quality software at the fastest possible velocity
- Realise the potential of every engineer through excellent leadership, support and mentoring
- Manage multiple engineering teams various Global Payments product lines
- Work with Product Architects to ensure engineering efforts are delivering the correct product requirements
- Work with Engineering Management to define best practices and ensure they are being adhered to
- Coordinate with Delivery to ensure efforts are being planned, prioritized, executed, and reported against
- Ensure projects are delivered to Production in a timely and quality manner
- Triage production issues to understand root causes
- Conduct 1-2-1s, performance reviews and career management with team members
- Manage dependencies, resolve issues, and highlight risks ahead of team to maximize the product flow of the engineering teams
- Ensure teams are consuming from, and contributing to, strategic engineering initiatives such as Global Payments Integrated Test Execution Framework, DevOps Lab, Performance Lab etc
- Conduct Interviews and technical auditions to expand the engineering team footprint
- Play an “in the trench” leadership role - conduct standups, attend Analysis and Design workshops, oversee release deployments, etc.
What You’ll Bring
- BSc or MSc or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
Self Management:
- Can take ownership of assigned items on workstack and balance deliverables vs team support
- Dedicate personal time commitments to getting assigned workstack items completed
- Ensure escalation of issues and actioning of items in a timely manner
- Commitment to self development

- Ability to professionally interact with appropriate stakeholders and meet their expectations

- Ensure that team issue identification and analysis is completed in a timely manner

- Ensure timely escalations of any issues and timely resolution of team issues to HR
Understanding:
- Proficient knowledge of assigned work and tasks along with relevant domain
- Proactively seek to understand requirements
- Knowledge and understanding of stakeholder roles and responsibilities and awareness of team projects, the architect roadmap and stakeholder interaction
Solution:
- Create fit-for-purpose solutions to deliver on requirements by using best practices, patterns, principles etc in the relevant field
- Consider multiple aspects of the solution
- Proactively seek expertise and share knowledge
- Create Fit-for-Purpose Documentation – solution and decisions
- Lead options based planning and agreement with stakeholders
- Contribute to roadmap planning with architects
- Technical Solution Options and Impacts
- Measure and keep track of the impact of Change Requests

- Ensure defects are minimised, and should not have been catchable under reasonable test expectations
