Job Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Hampshire, UK
Contract Type: Permanent

Overview

A permanent, owner-side Engineering Manager role at the heart of the energy transition. You will lead engineering execution across the full project lifecycle for a portfolio spanning decarbonisation, carbon capture, hydrogen, and renewables, working within an international energy organisation and multicultural teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the engineering execution plan and drive it through every project phase
  • Lead the engineering project team, including roles, staffing, and workload allocation
  • Oversee engineering execution to maximise value for the business
  • Coordinate design and HSEQ reviews
  • Define and monitor project schedules and cost budgets
  • Manage engineering risks, including identification, assessment, response, and stakeholder communication
  • Manage project changes, interfaces, and their impact on execution
  • Manage multidisciplinary outsourced engineering services
  • Consolidate cost estimates and monthly workload forecasts for management
  • Act as the main engineering interface with stakeholders on progress, risks, and key decisions

Requirements

  • Proven capability in managing engineering execution, including planning, scheduling, progress, and cost control
  • Strong grounding in risk management, change management, and project management processes
  • Familiarity with all project phases: feasibility, front-end engineering design, and execution
  • Understanding of the owner-engineering role within an international energy organisation
  • Experience working with multicultural teams across different locations
  • Confidence to lead autonomously, including decision making, setting priorities, and problem solving
  • BEng in Engineering minimum; Chartered status (CEng) desirable
