Engineering Manager – Civil Engineering
Working for a Tier 1 contractor, Leading the civil engineering function from pre-contract to delivery, supporting teams across the Energy business unit.
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £80,000 - £85,000 basic + Car + Bonus + Package
Role:
The Resolute Group have been retained to identify and secure an Engineering Manager (Civil Engineering skill set) for a Tier 1 contractor who works across the UK, with a particular focus in the Infrastructure sector.
Supporting both internal teams (Temporary Works and Permanent designs) and external stakeholders in delivering comprehensive infrastructure and civil engineering packages for the Energy business unit.
The role is both leading a team of Civil Engineers and providing Technical assurance as the lead for the business unit. From the hands-on engineering management of projects in developing the tender and bid, through to overseeing the live design and project delivery.

With both you and your team involved with clients and consulting engineers to ensure the work is safely delivered to the correct standards. Your role responsibilities will change depending on your project portfolio but could include:
- Lead and manage all civil engineering activities at pre-contract and project delivery stages.
- Manage internal and external engineering resources, ensuring effective deployment and performance.
- Identify temporary works requirements and allocate appropriate resources in collaboration with operations directors.
- Support pre-contract activities, including bid reviews, tender input, interviews, and presentations.
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, lessons learned, and knowledge sharing across the Energy business.
- Ensure full compliance with CDM Regulations and maintain a clear understanding of Client, Principal Contractor, and Principal Designer roles.
- Support the mobilisation of new contracts, including engineering governance and HSEQ arrangements.

This role is a hybrid position but you need to be in an office 2-3 days a week, then 2-3 days a week from home. The office will depend on your working week as there may be Leadership meeting, One to One meetings or other issues that may require your support.
Required Experience:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status (Ideally)
- Significant experience in delivering civil engineering design from Temporary works through to site based permanent designs.
