We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager to take a hands-on leadership role in our Early Detection & Intervention business unit. You will lead two of the squads building our flagship product, Monitor, which helps keep children safe at school, at home, and everywhere in between. In this role, you will lead two distinct engineering teams. The first team owns the customer-facing experience of Monitor, building the tools that empower safety leads to receive alerts, review incidents, and take action on safeguarding concerns. The second team is responsible for the client-side application that runs directly on children's devices.
Your Impact: What You'll Be Doing Ensure Predictable, High-Quality Delivery: In collaboration with the Product team, you'll negotiate the balance between shipping new features, managing quality, and mitigating risk. Given the vital nature of our safeguarding tools, you will establish predictable delivery timelines without compromising on reliability. Drive Technical and Architectural Strategy: Work in close partnership with Product Management to own the "how" of building and scaling Monitor. You'll make key architectural decisions to evolve our systems, ensuring seamless integration between the children's devices and the safety lead dashboards. Build and Mentor High-Performing Teams: Cultivate healthy, engaged, and highly effective engineering squads. You will act as a trusted leader across your two teams, developing talent and fostering a culture of technical excellence and ownership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
