The Role
As a Engineering Manager, you’ll lead a cross-functional engineering team delivering customer-facing products and core platform capabilities. Our teams move quickly, experiment often, and use technology and data to solve real customer problems.
You’ll balance people leadership, technical decision-making, and delivery oversight, ensuring teams ship high-quality, scalable solutions while continuously improving how they work. You’ll support and develop engineers to do their best work, building a high-performing, collaborative team environment.
As we grow our engineering organisation and continue to evolve our platform capabilities and customer experience, you’ll play a key role in shaping how engineering operates at Veygo, contributing to team structure, delivery models, and a strong, forward-looking engineering culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of engineers through regular feedback, mentoring, and structured career development, helping individuals grow and perform at their best
- Creating an inclusive, high-performing team culture that promotes ownership, accountability, psychological safety, and continuous learning
- Partnering closely with Product and Design to deliver high-impact features and meaningful improvements that solve real customer problems
- Enabling teams to deliver at pace without compromising on quality, reliability, or scalability, balancing speed with strong engineering standards
- Collaborating with other engineering leaders to continuously improve engineering practices, systems, processes, and overall team effectiveness
- Proactively identifying delivery risks and dependencies, removing blockers early to keep teams moving and deliveries on track

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
