Engineering Manager (Hands-on) / Technical Lead | Ruby on Rails | Product-Led SaaS
Salary: £100,000 - £125,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits
Location: London (Hybrid - 3 days per week)
I'm currently working with a rapidly scaling, product-led SaaS business in the Tech for Good space that's transforming a highly regulated industry through technology. Having grown to over 100 employees, they're entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager.
The Opportunity
You'll lead a team of talented engineers while remaining heavily involved in software development (approximately 70% hands-on coding). You'll work closely with Product, customers and senior leadership to shape technical direction, influence product strategy and deliver meaningful customer outcomes.
This role would suit an experienced Engineering Manager or Lead Engineer looking to step into their first Head of Engineering position.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
