Engineering Manager

Hybrid working pattern: 3 days per week from London Bridge Office

Hometrack is seeking an accomplished Engineering Manager, to lead our efforts in delivering innovative, mission-critical products to power property decision-making in the UK financial services industry. We offer a competitive salary, fantastic benefits, and flexible, hybrid working.

About Hometrack

Hometrack’s market-leading property data sets, valuation models, and risk insights are delivered via our suite of B2B SaaS applications for mortgage lenders, brokers, and other key stakeholders. We’ve led the market for over twenty years.

Our services are mission-critical to the UK’s top banks, automating their mortgage offers. They’re used daily by home builders, mortgage brokers, local councils, and more to make informed property purchasing decisions.

We have an exciting strategy to serve an even wider section of the market, with innovative products and services.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced, customer delivery-focused Engineering Manager to lead our Client Engineering team. This role will have a real opportunity to have an impact on some of our most important customers.

Engineering Managers at Hometrack are "Player Managers" and you can expect approximately a 60/40 split between engineering and managing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be deeply customer-focused and outcome-driven.
  • Engage directly with customer calls and troubleshoot technical issues "live" with customer tech teams, deciding when to escalate or involve internal Hometrack expertise.
  • Own the Release and Hotfix process, including final approval for deployments linked to CET (Client Experience Team) delivery.
  • Question and challenge the CET team when reviewing work to maintain high quality standards.
  • Act as the technical spokesperson for the CET team, attending cross-functional meetings and contributing to the Engineering Management group.
  • Be a rapid learner, swiftly building an encyclopaedic knowledge of all major customer solutions.
  • Take responsibility for CAB, eCAB, and feature toggle prep and presentation.
  • Drive a culture of performance and delivery through team goals and rapid feedback.
  • Handle contractor admin and management.
  • Maintain accurate timesheet reporting across:
    • Client deliveries
    • Internal support
    • Live service support & operations
    • Tech-driven projects
  • Provide energy and enthusiasm to bolster team morale.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers across differing programmes, managing competing priorities.
  • Own and drive a technical & productivity improvement backlog, monitoring progress and efficiency gains.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
