Engineering Manager (Data & Full-Stack Focus)
About Overstory
The climate crisis is the defining challenge of our time—but it’s also the greatest opportunity for innovation, and a challenge we’re proud to take on. At Overstory, we harness cutting-edge technology to enable a resilient electrical grid that keeps communities thriving as the world changes.
The Problem We Solve
The global electrical grid powers hospitals, keeps food fresh, and connects communities. Yet, extreme weather, aging infrastructure, and rising wildfire risks are destabilising this critical system. Forests crossing power lines are a leading cause of catastrophic wildfires and power outages.
Our Solution
We leverage AI and advanced satellite imagery to predict and mitigate vegetation risks before they materialise. By identifying high-risk areas, we help utilities prevent outages, reduce wildfire risks, and accelerate the transition to a safer, more resilient grid.
Our team is a diverse coalition of outdoor enthusiasts, musicians, and problem-solvers united by a shared passion for advanced climate solutions—believing technology should drive good.

At Overstory, technical agility, leadership, and collaboration sit at the core of decision-making. While hands-on coding isn’t a primary responsibility, Em Misycois remain hands-on with budgets and experience across multiple, non-technical impacted business domains.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
