I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

AI at Perk
AI is embedded in how we work and what we build. On the engineering side, it spans the whole workflow:
- Our Notion, Jira, GitHub, and Slack are AI-connected to expedite onboarding and simplify workflows
- AI assists with specifying features, writing and reviewing code, and automated AI PR review on every pull request
- When something goes wrong in production, AI quickly surfaces context across systems
- We embrace agentic coding, using AI as an active collaborator, not just a co-pilot
We expect candidates to use AI tools in coding interviews. The focus should be on understanding your code and owning what you produce, reflecting how we work daily.

- Technical background, ideally in software engineering, where you were a hands-on individual contributor (IC)
- Experience managing larger teams, with a focus on building processes and systems of delegation
- Ability to act as a problem finder and solver, both technically and organisationally—to help your team overcome obstacles to perform at their best
- Skilled in running effective performance reviews that balance achievement recognition with growth opportunities aligned with business needs
- Strong obsession for pragmatism, simplicity, efficiency, and performance
- Ability to adapt and react fast to an ever-changing environment
- Experience with (or strong interest in) AI-driven development, including:
