Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of innovative, high-quality products from concept through to launch. You'll oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, electrical (including software/electronics), and full system integration, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to exacting standards. The role is ideal for someone ready to take full ownership of product development and team leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end product development programmes, including New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Champion engineering excellence, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept through design, validation, and engineering sign-off
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful project delivery
  • Identify and mitigate technical and commercial risks
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to shape and refine product briefs
  • Represent the business confidently to customers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders
  • Chair technical discussions and project reviews to ensure alignment and progress

Who We're Looking For

  • Proven Engineering Manager with experience leading teams of 5+ engineers
  • Strong background in full-system product development (mechanical and electrical disciplines)
  • Experience in industries such as construction equipment, machinery, vehicle, rail, or related sectors
  • Demonstrated track record delivering design and development projects to time and cost targets
  • Confident communicator, able to influence at all levels and present to senior leadership
  • Ideally holds an engineering degree (Mechanical preferred), with Chartered status advantageous
