You'll become part of the Plant Leadership Team for one of Yorkshire's most recognisable FMCG manufacturers, taking ownership of Engineering, Utilities and Facilities across a highly automated production environment.
With continued investment in manufacturing capability, automation and sustainability, you'll play a key role in shaping the site's engineering strategy, leading major capital projects, improving reliability and developing a high-performing engineering team.

The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, this is a rare opportunity to influence the future direction of a highly automated manufacturing operation. You'll take ownership of Engineering, Utilities and Facilities across the site, leading strategic improvements in reliability, efficiency, sustainability and engineering capability whilst helping deliver the next phase of the company's ambitious growth plans.

This role offers far more than day-to-day engineering management. You'll help shape long-term engineering strategy, lead significant capital investment projects, develop a high-performing engineering team and play a key role in driving operational excellence across one of Yorkshire's most iconic manufacturing businesses.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading Engineering, Utilities and Facilities across a highly automated manufacturing site.
- Developing and delivering the site's long-term engineering strategy.
- Driving equipment reliability, manufacturing performance and engineering excellence.
- Leading major CapEx projects from planning through to successful delivery.
- Developing a high-performing engineering team through coaching and succession planning.
- Championing continuous improvement, sustainability and operational efficiency.
This is a role for someone who thrives on solving complex engineering challenges. You'll inherit a well-invested manufacturing operation and be trusted to identify opportunities to improve reliability, increase capacity, reduce downtime and help prepare the site for future growth.
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree level or professional equivalent in Engineering.
- Proven Engineering Management experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment (food & beverage experience would be advantageous).
- Experience within highly automated manufacturing environments (ideally Krones equipment).
- Proven strategic leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
- Strong reporting skills; comfortable relaying data and information to wider group and board.
- Solution-focused mindset with strong analytical and coaching capabilities.
- Experience in data analysis, budget development, and resource planning.
- Expertise in various manufacturing processes and Continuous Improvement methodologies.

Our client is one of Yorkshire’s most recognised FMCG manufacturers who produce a globally recognised, award-winning and distinctive product. Operating a 24/7 manufacturing site with 2 highly automated production lines, this business supplies major retailers, hospitality brands and international markets while continuing to invest in manufacturing excellence, sustainability and innovation.
As production volumes continue to grow, the business, and wider group, is investing heavily in engineering capability and is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help shape the next phase of its journey.
