Senior Gas Turbine Engineering Manager – SGT-A20

A Snapshot of Your Day

As SGT-A20 Engineering Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team across multiple geographic locations, with responsibility for improving fleet performance, reliability, availability, maintainability (RAM), and product safety. Your role includes:

  • Overseeing technical investigations into in-service issues
  • Driving engineering improvement and R&D activities
  • Supporting product safety and key part disposition decisions
  • Collaborating with regional and cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions for both internal and external customers
  • Occasional international travel may be required

How You’ll Make An Impact

Service Fleet Performance

Lead improvements in reliability, availability, and maintainability (RAM) across the SGT-A20 fleet, driving:

  • R&D programmes
  • Technical investigations
  • Customer-focused solutions

Collaboration

Partner with:

  • Regional teams
  • Operational Service Desk
  • Project Management
  • SCM (Supply Chain Management)
  • MROC bases (Maintenance and Repair Organisation Centres)
  • Quality functions
  • M&S (Maintenance & Support) To align technical priorities with customer needs and broader business strategy.

Operational Excellence

  • Delegate to Product Owner (Chief Engineer) when required
  • Support Product Safety decisions
  • Participate in PDP (Product Definition Process) reviews
  • Manage critical parts dispositions (e.g., Production Permits, Concessions, Waivers, TLRFs)

People & Leadership

Develop and lead a high-performing team by:

What You Bring

  • A degree in engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in engineering and/or reliability
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Problem-solving
    • Defect investigation
    • Engineering solution development
    • Maintenance strategy optimisation (preferably within energy or turbomachinery sectors)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to:
    • Translate complex technical information into clear, credible messages for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Strong customer focus, prioritising quality service
  • A commitment to safety and quality, with leadership and persuasiveness to motivate high standards
  • Knowledge of the SGT-A20 gas turbine and auxiliaries (highly desirable but not mandatory)

Our Gas Services team delivers low-emission power generation through:

  • Service, modernisation, and decarbonisation solutions
  • Support for gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators
  • Digitalisation and service innovation for fleet performance improvements

Location Requirements

This role is hybrid-based, requiring 2-3 days/week in the Warwick office. You must:

  • Live within commute distance of Warwick, or be prepared to relocate at your own expense
  • Hold permanent right to live and work in the UK with no visa restrictions
