Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire (with National Travel)

Employment type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Hours: (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, 8.30am to 5pm)

About The Role…

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Private Networks Division as an Engineering Manager.

You will be results-driven with extensive experience leading high-performing engineering teams in fast-paced technical environments. Proven ability to drive operational excellence, champion health and safety, and deliver complex engineering projects to the highest quality standards.

Strong background in HV/LV systems, technical leadership, resource planning, and customer-focused project delivery, with a track record of improving team performance, maximising utilisation, and supporting business growth. Recognised for developing engineering talent, solving complex technical challenges, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and building lasting relationships with customers and stakeholders through collaborative leadership and clear communication.

As an Engineering Manager you will…

  • Lead and develop a team of engineers within the Private Networks business.
  • Take overall responsibility for health and safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure high-quality technical delivery across projects and services.
  • Support the sales team by providing technical expertise and helping define the right customer solutions.
  • Work closely with Operations, Project Management, and Service teams to ensure sufficient skilled resources and maximise utilisation.
  • Improve engineering processes through lessons learned and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

About You…

  • Engineering qualification (ONC, HNC, or equivalent).
  • IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Experience in a technical engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical systems.
  • Experience leading and developing engineering teams.
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and solve complex engineering problems.
  • Experience managing resources in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
