Are you an experienced engineering leader who thrives in complex, heavy industrial environments and is passionate about driving maintenance excellence, reliability and operational performance?
Following a significant multi-million-pound investment programme, including the installation of a new Cold Mill, modern warehousing facilities, engineering workshops and stores, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping the site's future performance.
This position will be instrumental in developing and delivering a world-class maintenance excellence strategy, ensuring the highest standards of asset reliability and operational performance. The successful candidate will also lead the identification, development and implementation of future capital investment projects across the site.
As a key member of the Corby Operations Leadership Team (COLT), the Engineering Manager will contribute to the delivery of safety, operational, financial and people-development objectives while helping define and execute the site's long-term strategy.
Leading a team of highly skilled engineering professionals, you will ensure manufacturing assets and site infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards within a safety-critical environment. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance asset capability, plant performance and operational availability.
This is a highly visible leadership role at the heart of a major manufacturing operation, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on both the business and its people.

The Role
Reporting to the Works Manager, this role is based at the Corby site, with occasional travel to other UK locations for meetings, collaboration and industry networking.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing engineering leadership, expertise and technical support to manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with all health, safety and environmental legislation and standards.
- Developing and implementing an asset reliability strategy, including asset criticality assessments, FMEA programmes and maintenance excellence initiatives to drive sustainable improvements.
- Leading the engineering team to develop advanced problem-solving capabilities, improve process diagnostics and implement effective corrective actions.
- Driving maintenance excellence across a medium-to-heavy industrial manufacturing environment, using operational KPIs such as OEE and loss analysis to support business performance.
- Planning and managing annual shutdowns, planned maintenance programmes and major plant refurbishment activities.
- Managing the site's annual maintenance and repair budget, ensuring resources are effectively deployed to support business objectives.
- Developing the capability of engineering teams through coaching, mentoring, succession planning and performance development programmes.
- Establishing and supporting an inspiring apprenticeship and early careers development programme.
- Representing engineering within strategic business discussions, ensuring the development and implementation of best-practice engineering standards, systems and processes.
- Supporting the achievement of site-wide operational, safety and financial targets as part of the leadership team.

What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer status, or be actively working towards professional accreditation.
- Significant engineering leadership experience within a heavy industrial, manufacturing or process-driven environment.
- Proven experience managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering and maintenance teams of 100+ employees.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems, reliability programmes and asset management principles.
- Experience using manufacturing performance metrics such as OEE and maintenance performance indicators to drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A strong commitment to safety, operational excellence and long-term business performance.
- The ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
