Engineering Manager
Location: Kings Lynn
Full-time ¦ Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for a driven and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our site engineering function and play a key role within the senior operations team.
You'll be responsible for ensuring plant reliability, delivering capital projects, and driving continuous improvement across engineering and site performance. This is a high-impact leadership role with real opportunity to influence operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering team to deliver strong site performance
- Ensure planned maintenance strategies maximise plant efficiency and minimise downtime
- Manage engineering budgets and control costs in line with site objectives
- Deliver capital projects on time and within budget, ensuring ROI
- Drive continuous improvement across equipment, processes and energy usage
- Maintain compliance with all Health & Safety, food safety and audit standards
- Ensure effective spare parts management to support operational continuity
- Work closely with production teams to optimise plant performance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work at all times
- Support and develop team capability through training and performance management

Essential Criteria
- Time-served Dual Skilled Engineer (Electrical & Mechanical)
- Proven experience in a leadership/line management role
- Strong engineering background within manufacturing (food industry preferred)
- Excellent organisational, communication and team-building skills
- Financial awareness with experience managing budgets
- Strong problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis
- Knowledge of key safety systems (LOTO, Permit to Work, Working at Height, Confined Space)
- Relevant qualifications (C&G/NVQ or equivalent)

Desirable
- Experience within a cooked meats or food manufacturing environment
- IOSH / NEBOSH
- HACCP Level 3 / Food Safety Level 3/4
- Knowledge of TACCP, Legionella, LOLER
- Experience as Electrical or Asbestos Duty Holder
