About The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Mechanical Services scope for a major Defence Nuclear infrastructure project. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, this is a pivotal role where you’ll oversee engineering delivery from design through to handover within an operational nuclear facility. You’ll be accountable for all engineering elements within your defined scope, ensuring compliance with the Nuclear Safety Case and delivering works to the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

This is a long-term opportunity to make a significant impact on a critical national project, working alongside leading experts and stakeholders in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering activities for Mechanical Services and supporting infrastructure from design through commissioning and handover.
  • Manage design consultants, D&B subcontractors, and project engineering teams.
  • Ensure all works comply with the Nuclear Safety Case and relevant regulations.
  • Represent the project’s engineering aspects to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering delivery.
  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and quality assurance processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Defence Infrastructure Organisation and other key partners.
  • Support tendering and mobilisation activities as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
