About the job:
Kent is looking for an Engineering Manager to be based in one of our UK offices and support the offshore wind business. The Engineering Manager will work with other talented minds and technical experts on concept, FEED and detailed design of major offshore wind assets, together with developing innovative solutions for repair and upgrades.

Skills & Responsibilities:

Provide engineering management for Offshore Wind projects, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver safe, high-quality engineering solutions in accordance with client, regulatory and business requirements.

Assume lead roles in the technical delivery of work packages, comfortable leading a range of structural design and analysis projects with local colleagues or wider multi-disciplinary teams located across different offices.

Develop the capability of the engineering team, providing advice, leadership and support to colleagues at all levels to solve technical engineering problems.

Deliver high-quality engineering; review and manage design development to ensure compliance with specifications, relevant codes and standards (DNV, IEC, Eurocodes), certification requirements and internal best-practice procedures, and contribute to the continual development of design approach and methodology.

Interface directly with clients – presenting technical solutions, design justification and risk positions – and coordinate stakeholders including contractors, certifiers and internal engineering teams.

Significantly influence design decisions and manage technical risk; identify and resolve interface risks and clashes across packages and disciplines.

Integrate innovative and emerging tools and practices developed within Kent to drive value and efficiencies for both clients and the business.

Ensure alignment with the overall project programme, budget and technical requirements.

Promote and enforce health, safety and environmental standards, with sound knowledge of safety and quality procedures and best practice.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Your knowledge/skills, education, and experience:
-
Engineering degree, honours or equivalent in civil, mechanical, structural, naval architecture or similar;

Chartered Engineer with a recognised engineering institution
Behaviour/ Core Competencies:

Comfortable at leading tasks, you are keen to support, mentor and develop the capability of the team. You are also a motivator and take personal responsibility in achieving the best from the team to ensure client satisfaction. You are comfortable and adaptable to working in new and changing environments. You have good attention to detail and can make sound judgements under pressure.

Significant experience working for engineering or client organisations in the offshore wind industry.

Strong understanding of design and analysis for all types of offshore structures (fixed platforms and floating), with proven delivery of FEED and detailed design projects for either WTG foundations or offshore substations.

Experience of managing engineering design teams for offshore works.

Direct experience of managing engineering projects to time, cost and quality objectives.

Experience of managing and collaborating with remote teams, working as part of multi-company partnerships and managing supply chains.

Experience in engaging with clients and other stakeholders involved in the lifecycle of an Offshore Wind asset.

Ability to integrate new and emerging technology, tools and practices within project delivery to drive efficiencies and added value for the business.
Communication:
- Excellent command of the English language in both oral and written communication skills
