This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager - Public Cloud, Python, Golang based in United Kingdom.
About the Role
As an Engineering Manager - Public Cloud, Python, Golang, you will lead a high-performing distributed engineering team responsible for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure solutions. This role combines technical leadership with people management, enabling you to mentor talented engineers while driving the development of cloud-native software and automation pipelines. Working closely with global cloud providers and cross-functional teams, you will shape engineering strategy, champion best practices, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineering leader passionate about cloud technologies, open-source software, and building collaborative, high-impact teams.
Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence and professional growth.
- Drive the design, development, testing, and delivery of highly reliable cloud image pipelines and infrastructure automation solutions.
- Promote modern agile development practices, healthy engineering processes, and a collaborative team culture.
- Perform architectural reviews, contribute to code reviews, and provide technical guidance in Python and Golang development.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, external technology partners, and cloud providers to deliver optimized cloud solutions.
- Define team priorities, manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, performance, security, documentation, and automation.
- Participate in engineering leadership discussions and contribute to long-term technical strategy and organizational success.
- Represent the team during partner engagements and occasional international meetings and events.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring software engineering teams in distributed or remote environments.
- Strong software development background with hands-on experience in Python and/or Golang.
- Experience designing and operating cloud-native applications and infrastructure on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, automation, workflow engines, and infrastructure engineering.
- Demonstrated commitment to agile software development methodologies and engineering best practices.
- Excellent technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong architectural thinking with the ability to guide complex technical decisions.
- Passion for coaching engineers and building high-performing, collaborative teams.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to approximately 15% for company events and team gatherings.
