The job:

As the Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the Head of Production, ensuring both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance are effectively managed across the site. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the maintenance team to ensure high operational efficiency
  • Developing and leading an effective preventative maintenance schedule to minimise downtime
  • Responding quickly to critical breakdowns to maintain production flow
  • Overseeing installation, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration
  • Managing maintenance work in the building and facilities, ensuring compliance with health & safety standards
  • Continuously assess and improving maintenance processes to increase efficiency and reduce cost

Your personality, experience and qualifications:

You will have significant experience in a similar engineering role within a fast-paced manufacturing or food production environment. You will also have:

  • A degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline (mechanical or electrical preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to troubleshooting equipment failures
  • Experience in budgeting, procurement, and contractor management
  • Up-to-date knowledge of engineering best practices and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide and develop the maintenance team
  • A can-do attitude, with the ability to work under pressure and drive continuous improvement
