SoundCloud

SoundCloud empowers artists and fans to connect and share through music. Founded in 2007, SoundCloud is an artist-first platform empowering artists to build and grow their careers by providing them with the most progressive tools, services, and resources. With over 400+ million tracks from 40 million artists, the future of music is SoundCloud.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our Subscriptions Team within the Payments domain.

Our team is responsible for building and maintaining the systems that power subscriptions and purchases across iOS, Android, and web platforms. From integrating with external vendors to building a seamless and secure checkout experience, we enable millions of users to access and enjoy premium features on SoundCloud.

This is a hybrid leadership role with a strong hands-on component. You will contribute directly to the codebase while leading a team of engineers, shaping technical direction, and ensuring high-quality delivery. You’ll play a key role in evolving our subscription platform, improving reliability, and driving new payment initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own backend systems responsible for subscription purchases and life-cycle.
  • Contribute hands-on to production systems, setting a high bar for code quality, testing, and observability.
  • Lead the team in building scalable, maintainable, and performant services across the payments stack.
  • Drive architecture decisions and ensure alignment with broader system design and engineering standards.
  • Balance feature development with technical debt and long-term system sustainability.
  • Support team members through mentorship, career development, and effective performance management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
