A Mobile Application Engineering Manager
Key Responsibilities
As a Mobile Application Engineering Manager within Platform Product, you will lead a team of Mobile Engineers responsible for delivering exceptional customer-facing experiences for the UK & Ireland market.
A People-First Leadership Role
- Build, coach, and empower a high-performing engineering team
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and key business stakeholders
- Spearhead high-quality software delivery in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment
- Focus on Responsible Gaming, Customer Onboarding, and regulatory compliance
Core Focus Areas
- Delivering features that improve the customer journey
- Ensuring engineering culture, development practices, and technical excellence
- Supporting engineers in delivering their best work
- Partnering across multi-disciplinary teams including Engineering, Product, Legal, Compliance, and Operations
Selected Responsibilities
- Lead and Develop a high-performing team of Mobile Engineers, enhancing skills through feedback, mentoring, and career growth
- Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment where innovation and continuous improvement thrive
- Align with Product Managers for prioritisation, roadmap shaping, and valourable customer outcomes
- Drive regulatory initiatives in the UK & Ireland, balancing customer experience, technical quality, and business needs
- Oversee and refocus engineering practices, delivery processes, and technical quality
- Support technical decision-making by facilitating architectural discussions and resolving delivery risks
- Collaborate with technical leaders across Platform to align priorities and enhance software development
- Establish strong relationships with stakeholders including Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Product
- Recruit, retain, and develop exceptional engineering talent
- Promote ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Ideal Candidate Background
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience leading and developing software engineering teams
- Experience in delivering customer-facing software products in an agile environment
- Proven technical and professional leadership
- Strong history of building high-performing, engaged engineering teams
- Strong skills in deliverability leadership, combining product priorities, technical quality, and team wellbeing
- Passionate coaching mindset, with expertise in developing people in a multi-country/city setting
- Exceptional communication skills with influence across all levels of the organisation
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience leading mobile engineering teams, especially those using React Native
- Previous experience in Project Management
- Background in regulated industries such as iGaming, fintech, or financial services
- Prior involvement in creating a stable & productive work environment, often involving HR
- Experience in driving engineering improvements, delivering excellence, or managing organisational change
