Dex

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The role

This company is building the CRM for the AI era. They're focused on real-time infrastructure and an AI-native architecture, with a frontend their engineers genuinely obsess over. Backed by significant Series B funding from leading investors, they're scaling fast and tackling a fundamental shift in how businesses operate.

This isn't a typical Engineering Manager role. You'll lead a focused team of 3-5 engineers, owning a critical product area end-to-end. But the split is 70% hands-on coding, 30% leadership. This is for EMs who want to stay deep in the code, not just manage, and who thrive in a structure built around that belief.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The work

  • Ship code across the stack (backend in TypeScript/Node.js or Go, or frontend in React) most days.
  • Own a critical product area end-to-end, from design to deployment and iteration.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a focused team of 3-5 engineers.
  • Drive architectural evolution for a real-time, AI-native platform as the company scales.
  • Translate customer interactions into product decisions, ensuring impact.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience leading a small engineering team (3-5 people), while remaining deeply hands-on and capable of owning a feature end-to-end.
  • Deep expertise in either modern backend (Go, TypeScript/Node.js, Python, Rust, C++) or frontend (React) system design, with a track record of building secure, scalable, reliable systems.
  • Strong command of modern cloud architecture (GCP or AWS), able to articulate and defend technical tradeoffs.
  • Ability to influence technical and product decisions across engineering, design, and executive teams without relying on authority.
