Engineering Manager

Gloucestershire

Excellent Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

Red Sky Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractor for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their expanding Energy division.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading technical role on a major Engineering, Procurement and Construction project within the UK's gas transmission sector. Working as part of a multidisciplinary Project Leadership Team, you will provide technical leadership throughout the full project lifecycle, from detailed design and pre-construction through to construction, commissioning and final handover.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager or senior Project Engineer looking to work on a nationally significant infrastructure project within a highly regulated, safety-critical environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading all engineering activities across the project, ensuring engineering solutions are safe, compliant, buildable and aligned with programme, commercial and contractual objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical leadership across a multidisciplinary EPC project.
  • Managing engineering activities throughout design, construction, commissioning and project handover.
  • Coordinating civil, mechanical, electrical, control & instrumentation, process and gas systems engineering disciplines.
  • Managing engineering interfaces between internal teams, design consultants, specialist subcontractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Ensuring engineering activities comply with relevant legislation, client specifications and industry standards.
  • Supporting design assurance activities including HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews and engineering risk assessments.
  • Providing technical support during construction, resolving engineering challenges and ensuring design intent is maintained.
  • Managing technical change control and supporting NEC contractual processes where required.
  • Supporting testing, commissioning and handover of completed works.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, regulators and the wider project team.
  • Promoting a culture of technical excellence, collaboration and safety throughout the project.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
