Engineering Planner

We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Planner to join our team at Florette in Lichfield, WS13 8NF.

This role will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of engineering maintenance activities. Provide essential co-ordination between engineering, production and external contractors to minimise downtime, improve reliability and ensure the site infrastructure supports safe and efficient food manufacturing operations.

Working hours:

  • Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Pay:

  • £37500

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage and optimise a weekly maintenance plan for production, water treatment and facility assets. Maximise efficient utilisation of resources (people, materials, equipment) and conduct root cause analysis on any deviations.
  • Plan and facilitate reactive and preventative maintenance, insurance inspections, refrigeration, compressed air, emergency lighting, fixed writing, portable appliance testing (PAT), drains, LOLA, working at height, HVAC, LEV, effluent plant, fire detection/protection and site security.
  • Act as lead, alongside Manager, in longer term horizon planning, matching to the requirements of production plans. Drive efficient use of resources.
  • Be the superuser and master data owner of the Company’s chosen computerised maintenance management system (CMMS). Ensure all required data is processed and that the system and controls are consistently improved to meet evolving business needs. Provide training to colleagues and develop technical skills and competence of all users.
  • Analyse performance data held in the CMMS to help drive continuous improvement activity across the department to improve the effectiveness of planned maintenance activities and the efficiency with which it is executed.
  • Manage contractors and service providers ensuring that risk assessments, method statements and insurance is in place before work is carried out. Conduct onsite induction, competency assessment and ensure compliance with all site standards and permits through active monitoring.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Completion of a recognised qualification or equivalent experience in engineering, maintenance or facilities management.
  • Proven experience in maintenance planning, facilities or engineering co-ordination within food manufacturing, FMCG or process industries.
  • Proficiency with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with attention to detail.
  • Good technical understanding of maintenance and facilities systems.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

The business operates mainly under it's recognisable Florette salad brand and we are one of the UK’s leading producers in the industry. Under the well-known Florette brand, our site processes and distributes pre-packed, ready to eat, fresh salad bags and bowls to some of the UK's most well-known supermarkets and retailers, as well as your favourite restaurants and fast food vendors.
