SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Are you looking for your next role, we have an opportunity to join our team at Jotun UK & Ireland.

Our facility has been operating successfully for over 30 years and is designated as a COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) site. With several ATEX (explosive atmosphere) classified areas, safety and compliance are at the heart of everything we do. This is a challenging environment where engineering excellence directly contributes to operational reliability and regulatory compliance.

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead and deliver engineering projects across the site including R&D. You will play a key role in modernising plant infrastructure, ensuring compliance with COMAH and ATEX regulations, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and budget control.
  • Deliver upgrades and modifications to plant equipment and infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with COMAH and ATEX requirements in all project work.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and HSEQ teams to deliver safe and efficient solutions.
  • Provide technical input into risk assessments, safety studies, and regulatory submissions.
  • Drive innovation and reliability improvements across a 30-year-old plant environment.
  • Able to convey purpose and technical solutions for projects in an easy way to non-technical people.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR AND WHAT WE OFFER

What we are looking for:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Proven experience in project engineering within chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of COMAH regulations and ATEX requirements.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to deliver complex projects safely, on time, scope and cost.
  • Strong, clear communication and stakeholder management skills.
