A leading engineering and construction organisation is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering delivery across major infrastructure programmes. This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving technical excellence, managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.
The Role
The company is seeking a highly capable engineering leader to oversee engineering activities from bid stage through to project delivery and handover.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the engineering function across multiple projects and programmes.
- Managing Design Managers, Responsible Engineers, and technical teams.
- Providing technical leadership throughout design, construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Supporting bids, tenders, feasibility studies, and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensuring engineering procedures, standards, and best practices are implemented throughout project delivery.
- Driving innovation, modern engineering methods, and continuous improvement.
- Managing stakeholder relationships across clients, consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners.
- Promoting the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental performance.
- Supporting recruitment, mentoring, and professional development of engineering staff.

About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Significant experience leading engineering teams on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of engineering design, project delivery, and construction methodologies.
- Experience managing technical risk, design assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of contract management and commercial interfaces within engineering projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status would be advantageous.
