About the role
The Engineering Project Manager leads the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects from concept to completion. This role serves as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring projects meet strategic goals, scope, budget, and schedule requirements. The EPM coordinates cross-functional collaboration, manages risks and dependencies, and drives clear communication across all levels of the organization. Success in this role requires a balance of technical understanding, organizational leadership, and strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and critical path analyses
- Coordinate resource assignments across all business functions
- Ensure deliverables meet readiness criteria for each stage
- Track milestone adherence, report progress, and escalate risks or deviations
- Facilitate cross-functional communication to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and dependencies
- Support continuous improvement of project management processes, tools, and reporting methods
- Full compliance with the DeterTech stage/gate development process.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Experience
- Proven experience with a product lifecycle design environment, to provide planning and project management direction for a multi-disciplinary team
- Comfortable working within a disciplined and process driven development environment
- Partnering closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and other functions across the business on priority setting and schedule maintenance
- Translating product requirements into actionable technical tasks and milestones
- Ensures clear communication and alignment between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Managing vendor or third-party relationships as needed for product components or integrations, lead-time management etc
- Participating in technical discussions to evaluate feasibility, scope, and resource requirements
- Tracking and reporting on project progress, and outcomes to senior stakeholders
- Maintaining transparency through documentation, and regular status updates
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments
- Ability to prioritize and adapt in fast-paced, dynamic settings

Requirements
- Degree qualification within a suitable discipline, masters is a bonus
- PRINCE2, APM PMQ or similar
- Strong project planning and tracking skills, ideally with experience using Microsoft Project
- 5+ years of experience in project or program management within a technical or product development environment
- Experience managing complex development projects with mechanical, electrical/electronic hardware and software elements
