The EMEA Engineering Chief Operating Officer (COO) team, like the engineering teams we serve, doesn’t just make things – we make things possible.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
In this role as lead for the EMEA Engineering COO team, you will partner with cross-divisional teams to ensure that EMEA Engineering is aligned to, and delivering on, Engineering’s strategic priorities. Key initiatives may include location strategy, people strategies, optimizing Engineering-specific processes and coordinating targeted internal or external events.
You will develop a broad understanding of the Engineering organization and the complexities and opportunities surrounding its ambitious business priorities. You will help Engineering leadership accelerate organizational transformation through the use of empathetic and skilled communication. The value you create will be rooted in data-driven insights, proven problem-solving methodologies, and cross-team collaboration. You will also bring your prowess and experience with creating content and events to elevate our engineers and our Goldman Sachs Engineering brand. You will fulfill these responsibilities along with other strategic projects prioritized by the organization’s c-suite leaders, including the global Engineering chief operating officer and the head of EMEA Engineering.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years’ experience in strategy, COO, program management, change management or operations roles within technology or financial services, partnering with senior leaders on cross-functional initiatives.
- Proven track record leading end-to-end programs: scoping, planning, stakeholder alignment, execution, risk management, and measurable outcomes across multiple workstreams.
- Strong analytical skills, experience building management dashboards and executive-ready presentations using data to inform decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; skilled at executive briefings, messaging, and translating complex concepts into clear narratives for senior stakeholders.
- Experience designing and delivering internal/external events and trainings (virtual and in-person), including agenda design, speaker preparation, vendor coordination, and post-event measurement.
- Demonstrated ability to optimize and document processes; familiarity with process improvement methods and KPI definition to drive continuous improvement.
- High level of organization and project management rigor; able to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
- Strong relationship-building and client service mindset; effective influencing skills across levels, regions, and divisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Economics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Management & Strategy
- Ability to work with senior leaders and stakeholders to create consensus around strategic projects.
- Ability to manage specific management and strategy projects to support Engineering senior leadership and the organization’s strategic priorities.
- Ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate events to elevate our engineers and the Goldman Sachs Engineering brand internally and externally.
- Ability to optimize existing processes and establish new process, based on business needs, to support the Engineering organization.
- Ability to brief senior speakers to shape internal training content and messaging.
- Ability to oversee key aspects of learning delivery and coordination of in-person and virtual events, conferences and training programs.
- Experience developing business analytics and presentations for senior management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-divisionally to drive strategic priorities for Engineering.
