The Role
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will play a key role in driving Actalent’s growth by winning new business and expanding existing client relationships within the Engineering sector. You’ll operate as a trusted, consultative partner — using strong market insight and commercial acumen to understand client challenges, influence hiring decisions, and deliver talent solutions that create real business impact.
You will lead by example, executing high-quality sales activity aligned to the Actalent Business Cycle, while working closely with our Talent Delivery teams to ensure exceptional outcomes for both clients and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Account Growth
- Identify, target and develop new business opportunities within your market or specialism
- Grow and protect existing accounts through a consultative, relationship-led approach
- Conduct structured account planning and prioritisation
- Lead effective client meetings to uncover business drivers, challenges and hiring needs
- Negotiate terms, influence hiring decisions, and create urgency to drive successful outcomes

Client Partnership
- Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Act as a strategic partner, aligning Actalent’s solutions to client goals
- Deliver a compelling, tailored “Why Actalent” value proposition
- Conduct regular service touchpoints to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Market & Commercial Expertise
- Develop deep knowledge of your market, sector and specialism
- Use market insights to identify trends, risks and areas for growth
- Maintain credibility as a subject matter expert with clients
Collaboration & Delivery
- Partner closely with Talent Delivery to ensure roles are filled efficiently and effectively
- Support sourcing strategies and problem-solve delivery challenges
- Use CRM systems, dashboards and tools to manage activity and performance
Performance & Results
- Plan and organise activity to consistently achieve agreed performance targets
- Balance delivery of current business with proactive pipeline development
- Adapt approach and strategies to maximise results

Experience
- Proven success in account management and business development
- Experience working within Engineering Recruitment
- Experience winning new business and expanding existing client accounts
- Strong track record of meeting client expectations and resolving issues independently
- Experience mentoring or developing others is highly desirable
- Ability to consistently meet defined performance metrics
