We are looking for an experienced and driven Engineering Shift Manager to lead our engineering function during shift operations within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of production and packing equipment while supporting operational excellence across the site.

As Engineering Shift Manager, you will lead a team of engineers, drive a proactive maintenance culture, minimise downtime, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, safety, and asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the shift engineering team to maximise equipment reliability and efficiency. Ensure rapid and effective response to equipment breakdowns, minimising production disruption. Manage and deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities to a high standard. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on equipment failures and implement robust corrective actions. Collaborate closely with Production and Technical teams to improve plant performance and reliability. Support the successful delivery and commissioning of engineering improvement and CAPEX projects. Deliver key engineering KPIs including downtime reduction, PPM completion, and response times.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
