Engineering Stores Assistant
Department – Engineering
Responsible to: Engineering Parts Manager
Location: Kingsway Distribution Centre
Hours: Days – 40 hours a week (Mon-Fri 07:00 – 15:30)
Role Purpose:
We are seeking a candidate to provide support to the Engineering Department with the day-to-day running of the Engineering Stores. The candidate will be able to maintain the required level of spares and spare equipment in line with production demands. Contribute towards the delivery of the business objectives & KPIs

Key Responsibilities:
- To maintain and support the engineering spare parts stores and consumable stores
- To ensure timely and accurate procurement of Engineering spare parts and consumable requirements
- To receive, inspect, book parts in; receipt goods, ensure all paperwork available for audit
- To continuously monitor and analyze spare parts and consumables demand in line with changing operational and planning demands to ensure the minimum stock levels are always maintained
- To liaise directly with nominated external suppliers across the UK and Europe to ensure stock is available when required
- Inventory Management -to complete regular stock takes via our CMMS, generate stock replenishment reports to ensure min/max levels are managed
- Document and send faulty parts for repair with selected suppliers
- To complete all associated documentation involved with the procurement process, ensure filed away and stored for audit purposes
- To undertake the management of all chemicals used within engineering to the standards set out in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) regulations
- Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, including manual handling (reviewed annually)
- To communicate clearly and confidently on all matters related to engineering stock/stores.
- Ability to work independently

Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
- Good analytical and numeracy skills
- Excellent computer literacy skills including Microsoft package
- Good understanding of stock control processes and budget control measures
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
- Ability to communicate at all levels
- Experience using procurement systems
- CMMS – Agility experience preferable but not essential
- Experience in working within Engineering stores is essential
