Engineering Stores Operative

Engineering Stores Operative – Bridgwater

We’re looking for an Engineering Stores Operative to join our team at our Bridgwater site, playing a key role in supporting the engineering function and keeping our operations running smoothly.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team.


As a Engineering Stores Operative, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the engineering stores, ensuring parts and materials are available when the engineering team need them.

You’ll play a crucial role in helping minimise downtime and supporting efficient site operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day running of the engineering stores
  • Order and replenish engineering parts and consumables
  • Liaise with suppliers to source parts, obtain costings, and manage lead times
  • Receive, check, and put away deliveries accurately
  • Maintain stock control and ensure stock accuracy at all times
  • Use SAP to manage ordering, stock, and inventory records
  • Support engineers by issuing parts and responding to requirements
  • Work proactively and independently to keep stores organised and efficient

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Essential:

  • Experienced in a stores, warehouse, or stock control role (ideally within manufacturing or engineering)
  • Confident using systems (SAP or similar would be an advantage)
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and use their own initiative
  • Proactive, switched on, and able to manage their own workload

Desirable:

  • Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Forklift licence (training will be provided if required)
  • Experience using SAP or similar systems
