Job Title: Engineering Supervisor
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Engineering Supervisor at VPK, Selby supporting the Engineering Manager to lead and coordinate engineering and maintenance activities within our operation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of engineers and technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will do
- Supervise and support engineering and maintenance teams to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to maximise uptime and reliability.
- Coordinate engineering projects, installations, and upgrades.
- Manage contractor activities and ensure work is completed safely and to specification.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and development opportunities for team members.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation.
- Support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities for equipment failures.
- Manage engineering resources and materials effectively.

Essential
- Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Proven experience in an engineering or maintenance supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and engineering best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Desirable
- Experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement training.
- Health and Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH).
- Experience managing engineering projects and contractors.
- BOAS trained or experience with working with boilers and live steam.
