Engineering Supervisor
Whitley Bridge | £56,000 | Monday-Friday, 40 Hours (Days Only)
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Supervisor to join a highly automated food manufacturing and milling operation. Reporting into site management, you will lead and support a team of engineers, ensuring the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance while driving reliability, safety, compliance, and engineering performance across a 24/7 production environment.
The role is hands-on and would suit an experienced Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Maintenance Engineer with strong leadership skills and either an electrical, mechanical, or multi-skilled background.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and develop the site engineering team.
- Plan and coordinate daily maintenance activities and contractor work.
- Manage PPM schedules and drive reductions in unplanned downtime.
- Support breakdowns, fault finding, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and audit standards.
- Support site projects and engineering budget management.
- Act as an escalation point for out-of-hours engineering issues.
Requirements
- ONC/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous experience leading or supervising engineers.
- Strong maintenance engineering background within manufacturing.
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance systems.
- Good knowledge of pneumatics and fault finding.
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical qualification desirable for electrically biased candidates.
- Food/FMCG, bakery, milling, or other high-volume manufacturing experience advantageous.
