Engineering Supervisor/Manager
Shift Engineering Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Birmingham (Static Site)
Salary: £44,000 – £50,000 + 22% Shift Allowance (total up to £60,000)
Are you an experienced Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for a Shift Engineering Supervisor to join a busy, static site in Birmingham, leading a team of multi-skilled engineers and maintenance staff in a critical environment.
The contional shift pattern requires:
- 2 day shifts: 7:00am – 7:00pm
- 2 night shifts: 7:00pm – 7:00am
- 4 days off
No company vehicle is provided for this static site position.
About the Role
This key leadership position involves overseeing all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure safety, operational efficiency, and adherence to contractual service level agreements (SLAs).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of 7 maintenance staff, managing their workloads and ensuring effective allocation of resources
- Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are executed efficiently
- Oversee reactive maintenance and guarantee achievement of SLA performance targets
- Manage engineer absence, including sickness and annual leave cover
- Act as the first point of escalation for technical and operational issues
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all works comply with company procedures

Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
Electrical Applicants Must Hold:
- AM2 certification
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
Mechanical Applicants Must Hold One Of The Following:
- City & Guilds Mechanical Engineering Levels 2 & 3
- City & Guilds Pipefitting & Plumbing Levels 2 & 3
- City & Guilds Plumbing Levels 2 & 3
Essential Experience
- Previous supervisory or team leadership roles within maintenance or engineering
- Strong technical knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance processes
- Experience operating within KPIs and SLAs in a facilities management or building services environment
- Proven ability to demonstrate excellent communication, organisational skills
- Capacity to quickly and competently make decisions in a fast-paced environment

- Role is subject to a Standard DBS check. Applicants must be able to pass the screening process.
