Engineering Support (Night Shift) - £15.83 Per Hour - Nottingham, NG1
The Role
Do you hold a PCV licence and enjoy working in a hands-on role where every shift makes a real difference? Are you looking for a stable night shift position with great pay, a supportive team, and the opportunity to work with a well-known transport operator? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
Nottingham City Transport’s Parliament Street Garage is looking for an Engineering Support team member to join our dedicated night shift operation.
You'll help ensure our buses are clean, safe, and prepared for the next day's operation. Every shift offers a variety of tasks, from cleaning vehicles to carrying out basic vehicle checks and supporting the wider engineering team. You will also drive, fuel, and park company vehicles as required, making this a varied and rewarding role where no two nights are exactly the same.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and wants to play an important part in keeping our fleet ready for service every day.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
