At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. Join our Aviation business and play a pivotal role as an Engineering Support Officer at Staverton, near Cheltenham.


About the Role

This opportunity allows you to support critical aviation operations that make a tangible difference across the UK. Collaborating closely with Engineering and Flight Operations teams, you will provide vital administrative and operational support ensuring essential police and air ambulance services run smoothly and effectively.

Ideal for someone with organisation skills, an interest in high-paced environments, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support to diverse stakeholders.


Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Process purchase orders, invoices, expenses, and associated business documentation.
  • Create reports, KPI data, presentations, and spreadsheets to support departmental activities.
  • Coordinate supplier liaison, hazardous waste collections, uniform and PPE orders, and stationery requests.
  • Assist the Engineering and Flight Operations teams with roster administration, holiday requests, and sickness cover arrangements.
  • Maintain accurate records, files, and business documentation.
  • Support internal meetings and reporting processes.

This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite at Staverton, operating Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.


Requirements

Essential Experience for the Engineering Support Officer:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage fluently across organisational levels.
  • Proven experience maintaining accurate records, reports, and business documentation.
  • Ability to function independently and collaborately within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
    • Formulas
    • Statistical functions
    • Charts
    • Conditional formatting
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
    • Experience using AI tools in a business or academic environment would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four GCSEs at Grade 4-9 (or equivalent), including English and Maths.

Security Clearance:

  • The successful candidate must be prepared to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) clearance for this role.
