Engineering Surveyor (Permanent)
What Are We Looking For?
Our Integrated Asset Management team in Cumbernauld is looking for an Engineering Surveyor to join us on a permanent basis. You will play a crucial role in supporting our Survey Team across multiple construction projects across Scotland, contributing to the delivery of our projects through technical expertise and collaboration.
This role is ideal for someone with broad site engineering or engineering surveying experience, particularly those who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy delivering results while working within an experienced team.
Note: This position requires flexibility in working location, with accommodation provided by RSE.
Key Duties
- Act as our primary site engineering specialist, acting as a bridge between sub-contractors and our internal design and delivery teams.
- Take an active lead in driving and overseeing quality control on construction sites.
- Contribute to the management of construction works.
- Process survey data and produce drawings in CAD software.
- Generate accurate and timely reports for Design & Delivery management teams.
- Conduct utility and buried services location surveys.
- Provide additional support to the survey team as needed.
- Mentor and assist with the training and development of junior team members.

- Qualification: HNC or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Mindset: Keen willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment.
- Location Flexibility: Ability to work across Scotland and the North of England, often requiring relocation.
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional time management, ability to multitask, plan, and organise within a busy construction setting.
- Travel Requirements: Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Experience
- Laser scan surveys and data processing.
- Drone surveys for site and asset analysis.
- GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar) / EML locators for detecting buried utilities.
- Proficiency in N4CE, Civil3D, or Trimble Business Centre software packages.
