Monitoring Solutions Surveyor
Engineering Monitoring | Geomatics | Infrastructure
Location: Flexible (UK & Ireland)
Most customer projects are based across London, the South East and the North West. You’ll typically spend around two days each week visiting customers, with the remainder of the time working remotely.
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 + Quarterly Bonus + Car Allowance + Comprehensive Benefits
About the Role
Help shape the future of infrastructure monitoring. Every day, engineers make critical decisions that affect the safety of railways, bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, and major infrastructure assets. Those decisions are increasingly relying on continuous monitoring rather than traditional surveying alone.
Our client, a global leader in measurement technologies and digital reality solutions, is helping organisations transition from conventional survey methods to intelligent, automated monitoring systems. These systems deliver real-time insights, reduce risk, and improve asset performance.
This isn’t a traditional Engineering Surveyor role. It’s a technical advisory position.
As a Monitoring Solutions Surveyor, you’ll become one of the company’s Monitoring Subject Matter Experts, supporting customers and internal teams across the UK and Ireland.
Your role won’t focus on operating survey equipment daily. Instead, you’ll use your technical expertise to design, specify, and implement monitoring solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising engineering teams on the best monitoring technologies and workflows for their needs
- Delivering demonstrations, workshops, and presentations to help customers understand the benefits of monitoring solutions
- Supporting account managers during customer engagements
- Guiding customers through implementation and long-term adoption
- Building trusted relationships with engineering and infrastructure teams
- Identifying commercial opportunities within existing and prospective customers
- Staying updated on emerging monitoring technologies and industry developments
Typical Monitoring Applications
Your customers may be monitoring:
- Rail infrastructure
- Bridges and viaducts
- Tunnels
- High-rise buildings
- Dams and reservoirs
- Retaining walls
- Airports
- Major construction projects
- Mining operations
- Utilities
- Historic structures
- Landslides and embankments

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
