Engineering Team Lead
Engineering Team Lead – Configuration, BOM & Compliance Location: Inchinnan (HQ), supporting other global design locations
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Lead to lead our configuration management and engineering change function across a diverse and evolving product portfolio, including both current and legacy products.
This is a pivotal engineering leadership role, where you will be responsible for ensuring that Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering change (ECR/ECN), and technical files are accurate, traceable, and fully compliant. You will set the standards that enable multi-site product design while balancing speed of innovation with robust governance and control.
The role Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will own the governance of engineering configuration and product data, ensuring design information is “right first time”, audit-ready, and aligned to regulatory and quality requirements.
You will work closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Service teams to ensure changes are implemented effectively without compromising safety, compliance, or continuity of supply.
This role is well suited to an engineering leader with strong configuration, change control, or lifecycle governance experience who enjoys bringing structure, clarity, and continuous improvement to complex technical environments.
Key responsibilities Lead configuration management across the full product portfolio, including part numbering, BOM structures, revisions, lifecycle status, and release governance Own and manage the Engineering Change (ECR/ECN) process from impact assessment through implementation and closure Act as custodian of product technical files, ensuring completeness, traceability, and audit readiness Define and implement consistent engineering standards for drawings, documentation, and templates across design locations Maintain strong data integrity between CAD, PDM/PLM, and ERP systems (e.g. SAP) Partner with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Service to ensure safe and compliant change implementation Provide reporting, metrics, and governance on change throughput, data quality, and compliance status Support obsolescence management, legacy product stewardship, and controlled substitutions Act as an escalation point for complex changes and data integrity or compliance issues

About you Degree (or equivalent experience) in an engineering or closely related discipline Proven leadership experience in configuration management, engineering governance, change control, or lifecycle roles Strong working knowledge of BOMs, drawing control, revision/effectivity, and technical documentation Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven product environments Confident engaging across multiple functions and global sites to drive alignment Practical experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) and PDM/PLM/CAD data flows
